In the past couple of seasons, James Franco has been representing the brand 7 For All Mankind in their media campaigns. This season, he has collaborated with them yet again to produce a short film 'A Beautiful Odyssey' as part of the Spring/Summer 2013 multimedia campaign. Inspired by the poetry of William Blake, the film embodies love and connectivity in the setting of a Californian wedding. 7 For All Mankind approached me to introduce you all to their media campaign and also to interpret their Spring/Summer '13 pieces in a way befitting 'A Beautiful Odyssey'.

As soon as I set eyes upon those 7 For All Mankind floral print jeans, I could already feel the Californian sun on my face and the sand between my toes. That shade of aqua is particularly akin to the blue of swimming pools and ocean waves. With the onset of Coachella and the dominating presence of summery festival photos on Instagram, Californian inspiration has been overwhelming the past couple of days. I didn't have much trouble picking out what to wear with the floral piece. As the denim was already a statement piece in itself, I chose to pair it with neutral heels and a simple textured peplum top, balancing it up top with a brightly colored ribbon necklace. I think that the gold, blue and white palette really embodies the perfect California wedding in the sun and the sea.

'A Beautiful Odyssey' is multimedia campaign designed to be interactive for all of you. It has been released in several segments so that fans can vote towards the way they want the storyline to go. I hope that you all will watch the film and vote a happy ending, whatever you feel it may be!

DESERT ODYSSEY

And to you, ladies and gentlemen, I present the 2nd installation to my collaboration with 7 For All Mankind. This ensemble was inspired by the kaleidoscope shots and the surreal cutting of the 'A Beautiful Odyssey' short film, part of 7 For All Mankind's spring/summer campaign. I guess it may have influenced me to pick these out-of-this-world mickey mouse sunglasses for this outfit. Very Lady Gaga-esque - indeed, I think Mama Monster even donned these sunnies for her Paparazzi music video. I was wholly embracing the fact that there was enough sunlight that day to even CONSIDER wearing sunglasses - a rare occurence in polluted Hong Kong. The 7 For All Mankind piece featured in this outfit is the buttery-soft black tee. I chose it on the basis that I really do have a thing for leather, and I admired the way it looked even when creased. The shapes created by the leather mirror the geometrical patterns of the skirt and the necklace. Overall, I think this whimsical look transforms me from an budding blogger to a surreal desert space creature. And let's face it, who wouldn't want to be an alien?
